NOVINGER, MO. --
Update: 9:19 p.m.
A water line break in Novinger sparks a 24-hour Boil Order for many residents living in the town.
The water line break happened at the corner of Second Street and Frankford Avenue.
Mayor Jeff Dodson said a handful of volunteers and the town's Public Works Employee began working on the line around 4:30 Sunday afternoon.
Dodson said the line broke when volunteers were preparing to clean up the remains of old buildings and accidently drove a small skidloader over the line.
"Probably when they caught the water line, they were sliding over it because they were not digging at all," said Jeff Dodson. "They just caught the old water line and it was going into the old building and it just pulled it lose."
Dodson is advising all residents living south of Second Street or Route O and west of Frankford Avenue to boil their water until 5:30 p.m. April 23.
Novinger Mayor Jeff Dodson has issued a Boil Order for those residing west of Frankford Street and south of RTE O.
He said the boil alert is due to a water line break.
Dodson said the Boil Alert is effective from 5:30 p.m Sunday, April 22 until 5 p.m. Monday April 23.
