Appanoose County FY 2011 expenses, revenues move in opposite directions 

According to an audit released by the state auditor, Appanoose County had local tax revenue of $13,772,379 which included $651,377 in tax credits from the state for the year ending June 30, 2011.

Man shot by law enforcement near Fulton 

Timothy Simpson was Rose Simpson's nephew. She says when officers arrived he had the gun pointed at his head--he was apparently upset with his girl-friend. Police say he pointed the gun in their direction, and that's when they fired but we don't know yet know how many shots were fired.
