NOVELTY, MO. -- A Northeast Missouri man is hospitalized after being involved in a motorcycle accident.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol said that 55 year old Randy Lene of La Plata, Mo. has been transported by Air Evac to Northeast Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries.

The accident happened around 2:25 p.m. Saturday.

Lene was riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle on Route 156 near Novelty when he struck a deer that ran into the roadway. Upon hitting the deer, Lene was thrown from the motorcycle.

The Knox County Sheriff's Department and the Knox County Ambulance also assisted on scene.
