SIGOURNEY, IA -- Iowa Sen. Grassley is still on the road touring all 99 counties in Iowa for the 2012 year.
Thursday afternoon Sen. Grassley held a town meeting at the Public Library in Sigourney. Around 50 people showed up to participate in the discussion.
Sen. Grassley answered a variety of questions from the audience.
He thinks that with the current administration that unfavorable rules could be put into place regarding the USDA’s rules regulating farm labor for minors.
“Those of us in rural America who think these rules are stupid rules are going to do what we can to stop them from happening,” says Sen. Grassley.
Heads were turned when there was a heated discussion between the Senator and an audience member.
“I don’t feel like yelling again,” Sen. Grassley joked when that same audience member raised his hand again for another question.
When asked about the presidential election, Sen. Grassley made it clear that he is not backing any of the candidates.
