BRASHEAR, MO -- A Brashear woman is behind bars, accused of stealing from Wal-Mart.
Tracy Howes, 47, has been arrested and charged with burglary in the first degree, a class B felony, and stealing, value of property less than 500 dollars, a class A misdemeanor.
The incident dates back to Dec. 26. According to court documents, Wal-Mart loss prevention associates state they have reason to believe Howes made a fraudulent return of a hair trimmer. The documents indicate that Howes had already received a trespass warning from Wal-Mart dating back to 1999, when she was caught stealing $500 worth of merchandise.
With the information that Wal-Mart associates provided, officers headed to Howes' residence in Brashear on Saturday. While there, authorities say Howes admitted to stealing the hair clippers and fraudulently returning them. She also admitted that she had already received a trespass warning from Wal-Mart.
Howes remains in the Adair County Jail on a $50,000 cash only bond.
