KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- Kirksville Regional Economic Development Inc. (K-REDI) had its regular monthly meeting Tuesday night.
K-REDI renewed its agreement with the city for another three years, so it is good until 2015.
A piece of business that was discussed at the meeting was the hangar at the airport. Carolyn Chrisman, Director of Job Creation, stated that they have agreed to rent it out for local airplanes and storage. K-REDI also had local interest in possibly starting a type of local brewery. It has not received any response yet from breweries that are looking to relocate or expand to this area.
They are looking forward to legislative days next month in Jefferson City. Chrisman said, "We have some priorities that we are going to be talking about regarding farm technology. We are trying to get those regulations worked out, so that our project that we have here, that has been stalled for a year, hopefully gains some momentum in this coming year."
K-REDI's next annual meeting will be held Thursday, Feb. 9, at noon.
