OTTUMWA, IOWA -- Now that the 2012 Iowa Caucus is done and over with, Republican leaders throughout the state are reflecting on Tuesday night's events.

In Wapello County, it was standing room only in the Ottumwa High School auditorium as over 1000 participants gathered to hear a representative from each campaign speak.

Wapello County Republican Chair, Trudy Caviness, told KTVO Wednesday that she was amazed at the crowed gathered in the high school cafeteria.

"But the thing that was interesting, people were milling around down their, instead of going to the auditorium, talking with friends. And, it became quite a community gathering of friends and that was the good part," said Caviness.

Many young voters participated in the caucus for the first time. Many of those were supporters for Ron Paul, but some were supporters of the other campaigns as well. Caviness says that it was very refreshing to see so many new faces.

"Lots of young folks, that is always so exciting to see, to see a lot of young folks, and that is the one thing we do at our caucuses, we tell them to bring their family. Get people, get children used to coming. We don't have a problem with children being their," said Caviness.
