OTTUMWA, IOWA -- At this time of year, pretty much everyone has hopes that the coming new year will be better than the last.

Two people in the Hawkeye state, including one in Ottumwa, are holding the key to that success and don't seem to know it.

The Iowa Lottery  is still looking for the holder of a 16-million dollar winning Hot Lotto ticket.

That ticket was purchased in Des Moines on December 29, 2010. If the ticket is not claimed by tomorrow, it will become invalid.

And someone in Ottumwa is still holding onto a million dollar Powerball ticket purchased in September of 2011. That ticket will remain valid until september of 2012.
