HANNIBAL, MO -- To make MoDOT even more accessible in communities, MoDOT has restructured the role of the area engineer to include direct communication and interaction with each community. Amy Crawford, a professional engineer, is the new area engineer for Adair, Schuyler, Scotland, Knox, Clark and Lewis Counties, serving as an extension to the district office in Hannibal. More information about the area engineer role can be found online at modot.org/northeast.
Crawford has been with MoDOT for 11 years and most recently served as a traffic studies specialist. She was selected for this role because of her experience in working directly with the public through the Northeast Coalition for Roadway Safety and her construction and traffic engineering background.
Crawford will work directly with MoDOT's planning partner, the Northeast Missouri Regional Planning Commission, who serves the same counties.
Originally from Lentner, Missouri, Crawford graduated from the University of Missouri - Columbia with a degree in civil engineering. She and her husband, Jeff, and their children, Brooke and Logan, live in LaPlata.
Crawford is available for public speaking, media interviews, and is attending city, county and Chamber of Commerce meetings. She can be reached through MoDOT's toll-free customer service center at 1-888-275-6636 or at 660-651-1955.
