Gas prices continue their downward trend around the area. In the state Missouri, according to www.gasbuddy.com, the average price fell just slightly, to a statewide average of $3.02, well below the national average. In Kirksville the average price remained above the statewide average, at about $3.09. 

In Iowa the average price fell once again, to a statewide average of $3.18. In Ottumwa the average price was at $3.08, ten cents below the state average. Both Iowa and Missouri are well below the national average gas price of $3.29.
