BURLINGTON, IOWA -- The Department of Justice informed KTVO on Wednesday that Charles Wayne Allen, age 42, of Burlington, Iowa was sentenced to 160 months in prison for conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine.
Chief United States District Judge Robert W. Pratt also ordered the accused to serve 5 years of supervised release, and pay $100 to the Crime Victims Fund.
In February of 2011, Allen entered a guilty plea to conspiring to manufacture at least 50 grams of actual methamphetamine from January 2010, through March 17, 2010.
In 2010, police arranged to purchase methamphetamine from Allen in Burlington, Iowa. When Allen arrived to deliver the methamphetamine, police seized 8.57 grams
of methamphetamine and 192 pseudoephedrine pills from Allen. Police say that Allen was responsible for collecting pseudoephedrine pills from numerous individuals.
Allen delivered these pills to his co-defendant, Earl Freeman, who then cooked methamphetamine at locations in the vicinity of Burlington. In exchange for the pseudoephedrine pills, Allen received money or methamphetamine.
Assisting in the investigation was the Iowa Division of Narcotics Enforcement, the Southeast Iowa Narcotics Task Force, and the Burlington Police Department.
