WAYLAND, MO. -- A northeast Missouri man is dead after his pickup truck was hit by a car early Thursday morning.

It happened at 5:38 a.m. on Highway 61, three miles south of Wayland, Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported that Glennon Dochterman, 59, of Canton was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.    

Investigators said Dochterman's pickup was rear-ended by a Ford Mustang driven by Ryan Regar, 23, of Ewing.

The impact caused Dochterman's truck to go off the left side of the highway, where it overturned in the median, coming to rest upside down.

Regar apparently was not hurt in Thursday morning's crash.
