Police report: Critically injured officer was thrown 47 feet in accident

A Des Moines police traffic accident report says Officer Phoukham Tran, injured in a traffic accident Friday outside the Iowa State Fair, was thrown 47 feet from the approximate point of impact to where he finally came to rest.
