Thanks to a generous offer from Moberly Area Community College, the Missouri Career Center office located inside the M-A-C-C Kirksville Higher Education Center will continue serving citizens of northeast Missouri.

Several weeks ago, there were talks about shutting down the career centers in Kirksville and Moberly and combining the two into one office in Macon due to budget restraints.

Jonathan Fouger, Director of Communications for the Missouri Department of Economic Development, told KTVO the center will remain open rent free for the next three years.

The center will still have to pay utilities and expenses.

Fouger told KTVO that the main reason behind the center staying in Kirksville is the free rent offer extended by MACC.

There is no word yet on the fate of the Missouri Career Center location in Moberly.
