BLOOMFIELD, IOWA -- The city of Bloomfield keeps on growing, and now the city is preparing for a new addition.

The study shows that the area can hold a few baseball and softball fields, as well as tennis courts and a concession stand. The total cost for it is between $7-$8 million.

Mayor Chris Miller said many people support it, but its going to be a long process.

"It is very early in the process. We've just identified the costs associated with the project. And basically the only people we're hearing from is obviously the ones in support of the complex. But its very early. This would be a very long, drawn out project to complete."

"We're a little light on some fields. But the cost associated would mean we would have to do this in phases. I would envision we'll start with one to two fields and hopefully add on going forward."

The next step is for the Parks Board and the city to look at ways to fund the complex.
