KIRKSVILLE -- Some Heartland kids got to learn safety while having fun at the same time.
The 13th annual Kid’s Day took place at The Adair County Ambulance District in Kirksville Saturday morning. Law enforcement, fire services, 911, and ambulance services just to name a few were there in attendance to teach and show the importance of emergency agencies and safety. ACAD Assistant Chief Troy Mihalevich hopes this event gives the community a chance to see the emergency resources that are available and get to know them better.
“Basically form to interact with those individuals and those agencies so that if in fact they ever need them, they might not be as afraid of them in that situation.” Said Michalevich. “And just a chance for them to come down here and for us to give back to the community.”
There was of course free food and free entertainment as well at the event such as a clown, bounce houses, tarp games, and even a train. ACAD hopes to do this again next year.
