MACON, MO --
Heartland residents gathered at the Macon County Expo Center on Saturday for the first ever "Banding Together" event.
The event featured a showcase of bands such as the Back Row, Full Circle and Hind Sight along with local singers Charlie Jennings, Rachel Lowe and Sierra Reade.
The event lasted all day including a full dinner, prizes and dancing.
Junebugg Productions LLC put on the event and all proceeds were donated to fallen heroes, firefighters, and law enforcement officers.
There was also a fallen hero table set for one.
It stands for a fallen hero that would not be joining his or her family for dinner.
Coordinators said the event has been a month and a half in the making and everyone really pulled together in the final days leading up to the event.
"We actually started at on the building yesterday after lunch. We have had support, the great committees helped a lot. Lots of people came together in putting this together," said administrative manager Kathy Lee Part.
If you missed your chance to perform this year, no worries!
The event was a complete success and the event planners said there is a good chance to have another one next year.
