KIRKSVILLE, MISSOURI -- If you're a little bit "Bah! Humbug!" this holiday season, you can help to get yourself in the spirit by taking the Holiday Homes Tour.

Kirksville Thousand Hills Rotary Club is sponsoring the 13th annual event, which takes place Sunday, Dec. 5. From two - six p.m. everyone is invited to visit three Kirksville homes to view their holiday decorations.

"The Foglesong home is at the corner of Sheperd's St. and 1st," said Terri Jones, of the Thousand Hills Rotary Club. "The Novinger home is a South Pointe home. It's on Pelican Circle, and then Dr. Paino's home is on Halliburton; he's President of Truman University."

The homes can be visited in any order.

"They decorate their own homes," said Jones. "Someone said, 'Well, do they have to have lots of Christmas decorations?' And, that's just like all individuals have their own style. That's up to the homeowner. We're just thrilled they will donate their time and allow us to come in and see their homes, because that's a big, extra load of work for them to do."

The tour costs $7 in advance, and $8 at the door.

"Part of that will be used for our 'Coats for Kids' drive that we do every year, and we purchase coats, hats, mittens for needy children and we choose a different school each year," said Jones. "This year I believe it was Ray-Miller Elementary.

Also on Sunday night, The Kirksville Art Association is teaming with the Rotary Club to present a silent auction during the opening-night of their Festival of Trees event.
