KIRKSVILLE, MO --
It was an emotional Tuesday night for State Representative Rebecca McClanahan, who will end her second and final term at year's end.
Democrat McClanahan lost the District 2 State Representative seat to Republican Zachary Wyatt.
McClanahan says she was surprised by the results, but is proud of her 100 percent positive campaign.
She looks forward to serving the people of District 2 for the next few months.
“It's just been a joy for me to serve the people of North Missouri and I certainly believe that my work was not finished but it will be finished at the end of this year and I will move on to something else that I’m sure I will find as important and something that I can really commit myself to,” said McClanahan.
McClanahan is unsure of what the future will hold for her.
She says she will consider her options and the best interests of her family.
