LANCASTER, MO -- Thanks to a grant from the Secretary of States Office Schuyler County voters have received new polling booths.

“The old booths were plywood and were hinged together with nails” said Schuyler County Clerk Bree Shaw.  “For the election judges it was very hard for them to put them up and take them down for elections.  So having these now, I think it’ll be a lot easier.  They’re light weight and I’m hoping the voters like them also.”

Earlier in the year the county applied for and received an HHS Polling Place Grant.  A total of six new polling booths were purchased, each of which can hold four voters at one time.  Each booth is equipped with one handicapped accessible table so those with disabilities can vote hassle free.
