KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A car ended up in a pond on the golf course at the Kirksville Country Club Friday night.

Authorities received a call just after 8:30 p.m. that a vehicle had come off of Highway 6 and onto the golf course, ending up in the pond. Officers on the scene told KTVO the driver of the vehicle got out of the car safely.

Witnesses said the vehicle was submerged by the time authorities arrived on the scene. It was still in the water when our reporter left the scene about 45 minutes after the wreck
