BEVIER, MO. -- Two people that had to be rescued by firefighthers after a blaze in a motor coach over the weekend may have bigger problems.

The Bevier Fire Protection District responded to a fire in the couples motorcoach on Sunset Drive in Bevier just before 12:30 Sunday afternoon.

Macon County Sheriff Robert Dawson told KTVO Monday, his office has forwarded paperwork to the prosecutor in connection with marijuana plants found by fire fighters after the blaze was put out.

The sheriff's office was called to the scene after the fire.

Dawson said his deputy found four plants growing inside the motorcoach.

Formal charges are expected to be filed in the near future.

Fire Chief David Coleman says the fire began in the engine compartment and the motor coach suffered significant damage.

Firefighters were not able to determine what started the blaze, but Coleman told KTVO it was not suspicious.
