NOVINGER, MO. -- The Novinger community wrapped up its Labor Day celebration Monday.
Many residents turned out for the parade—both to watch and to take part in the event. The Labor Day celebration is put on by the Novinger Lion's Club. Members say it's a great opportunity for the community to come together and showcase the area kids
The event began on Friday. Organizers went back to a 3-day schedule last year, and stuck with that format again this year.
“We had a really good turnout last year and we were really happy with everything so we thought we'd give it a shot again this year. Crowds were down a little bit but we've had a great time. Everyone that's been here has had fun,” said Lena Reardon, Novinger Lions Club Secretary.
Organizers say the beautiful weather helped make this year's festivities a success. They also added some new events to the Labor Day celebration this year, including evening entertainment and a teen dance.
