KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Now that school is back in session the Catholic Newman Center on the campus of Truman State University is preparing for another successful year. Students are bringing positive energy back into the community.
At the end of the 2010 spring semester, longtime director Bettie Lesczynski retired after 23 years. Filling her shoes is Chris Korte. Korte served as youth minister for the past 10 years at Mary Immaculate Parish in Kirksville. Members are looking forward to see what the change has to offer.
“We’re just looking to fully integrate this new change of energy, changing the direction into our mission to be a catholic campus ministry” said Newman Center member Drew VanBoening. “You know, reaching out with the hand of service here or there or just a welcoming place for people to come and relax to grow in their relationship with God”
