Alleged crime committed at softball tourney

LEWISTOWN, MO. -- A Heartland man is accused of seriously injuring his former wife by striking her in the face at a benefit softball tournament.

The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office said Thomas Johnson, 33, of Durham, Missouri is charged with first-degree domestic assault in connection with the alleged incident at the Lewistown Ballpark on July 24.

The crime is a Class B felony.

Deputies arrested Johnson on July 26.

The suspect is being held in the Lewis County Jail on $25,000 cash only bond.
