KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A Heartland native returns home to spend some time with her friends, family, and fans!

Bluegrass singer/songwriter Rhonda Vincent held her annual Rhonda Vincent Fan Club Party at the Kirksville Country Club Wednesday afternoon.  Hundreds of fans from around the country came to the party to spend some time with Vincent and for a chance to win some prizes!  Vincent is originally from Greentop and returns home each year for the annual Sally Mountain Park Bluegrass Festival.  The festival begins Wednesday night with a potluck dinner followed by live music.

“The Sally Mountain Show” is Rhonda’s family’s band.  She started her musical career with that band when she was a child.  Rhonda returns home every year to play with her family and even you could have the chance to perform on stage with Rhonda.

“I participate in open stage.  A lot of folks will say ‘I wanna sing a song with you’ or ‘how do I do that?’  Come to Sally Mountain Park in Queen City and I participate in the open stage and back people up on instruments or sing with them and then also my band comes in on Friday and Saturday,” said Rhonda Vincent.

Vincent will play four shows on both Friday and Saturday.  She will play twice with her family’s band and twice with her own band, “The Rage.” 

“My daughter’s are also out there.  They now have a band called “The Next Best Thing.” So it’s just a family affair, my mom’s baking homemade pies all through the festival and it’s just lots of family fun,” said Vincent, “I posted on my Facebook this morning that it’s the most wonderful time of the year.  It’s just so much fun, I mean there isn’t anything like family and that’s the most important.  These folks here become our extended family as we travel.”
