Man arrested for assaulting Ottumwa cop

On the morning of June 1, 2010 the Ottumwa Police Department received a report of a subject on a four wheel ATV harassing a security guard at Indian Hills Community College. Officers responded to the area and observed a subject operating an ATV at a high rate of speed. Officers followed the ATV to the Ottumwa Country Club golf course. While searching the golf course on foot an Ottumwa Police Officer observed the subject fleeing on the ATV. The officer attempted to stop the operator of the ATV. In the process of attempting the apprehension, the Ottumwa Police Officer, Lt Mike McDonough, was struck by the ATV.
On the morning of June 8, 2010 the Ottumwa Police Department arrested Clint Wesley Tuller age, 23 of 15745 Eddyville Road, Ottumwa.
Tuller was charged with Interference with Official Acts (Aggravated Misdemeanor), Trespass (Simple Misdemeanor), Trespass, (Serious Misdemeanor) and Aggravated Assault. Tuller was also issued traffic citations for Speeding (over 30mph), No Insurance, No Headlight, Operation without Registration, Failure to Obey Stop Sign and Reckless Driving. The four wheeler used during this incident was seized for forfeiture.

It should be noted that the first press release concerning this incident reported Lt. McDonough suffered a broken arm as a result of this incident.
After being seen by a specialists it has been determined the arm was not broken. Had the injury been a broken arm the suspect would have been charged with a felony.
