DAVENPORT, IOWA -- An Iowa man will spend nearly 22 years in federal prison for his involvement in a meth ring that spread across six southeast Iowa counties.

Ronald Coleman, 47, of Danville, Iowa, was convicted of conspiracy to knowingly manufacture and distribute at least 500 grams of methamphetamine.  After being released from prison Coleman will have 10 years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay over $7,300 in restitution to cover the medical expenses of a minor who was victimized by his conduct.

The U.S. Attorney's Office says Coleman manufactured meth from 2005-2008 in Van Buren, Jefferson, Lee, Henry, Des Moines and Johnson counties. He is one of several people prosecuted in connection with that meth operation.

Coleman received significant sentencing enhancements because he taught a minor to make meth, involved that minor in the manufacturing process and intravenously injected methamphetamine into that minor on several occasions.
