KIRKSVILLE -- There were a number of issues discussed at the school board meeting for the Kirksville R-III District on Tuesday. Superintendent Patrick Williams told KTVO that the overall mood of the meeting was positive.
“As far as local revenue and taxes, the collection agent came out with a statement that collections locally on property tax were at 93 percent” said Williams. “That's just about where we projected them to be in terms of our budget. So that is good news for the school district.”
Construction on the high school is nearly complete. “It's 99.9 percent complete. We're occupying it, we're moved in, and we're fine-tuning it now” said Williams. “It's really an outstanding facility and in terms of just science and education, and what it has to offer our students and enhancement in for our curriculum, it's just a wonderful addition.”
Other items that were on the agenda included the nurse program partnership with MACC, board member CBM status, review of monthly financial report, as well as policy/procedure revisions.
