WATERLOO, IOWA (AP) -- A 19-year-old Waterloo man has received a 25-year prison sentence for allegedly aiding in the robbery of a convenience store.

Cody Lee Thomas was convicted of first-degree robbery for allegedly scouting a Waterloo convenience store and then providing a semiautomatic rifle to another man for use in robbing the store on Aug. 10.

According to prosecutors, Thomas gave Teijae Scott the rifle and later went to a Kum & Go with T.J. Marquand to scout the store. After leaving, he allegedly called Scott and gave him the go-ahead for the robbery.

Authorities say Thomas and Marquand initially told police they didn't know Scott. However, investigators later found a cell phone video showing both Scott and Thomas with the rifle.

Marquand pleaded to a reduced charge and testified for the prosecution at Thomas' trail. Scott's trial is pending.
