Justin Jacob, the suspect in October's chase and shooting, has been released on bond.
OTTUMWA, IOWA (AP) -- The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation said Justin Jacob was arrested on charges tied to an October chase in the southern Iowa community of Seymour.
Investigators from the DCI and Davis County Sheriff's Office arrested Justin R. Jacob late Friday afternoon on outstanding warrants including "Failure to Appear" for an assault on a peace officer and "Attempted Murder." He was taken to the Wapello County Jail, and released on $51,950 bond on Friday evening.
The arrest followed an October 15th a high speed chase, during which Jacob allegedly used his vehicle to strike an Iowa State Patrol car driven by trooper Chris Spencer. An officer then shot at Jacob, and the chase ended on the front lawn of Seymour High School. Jacob was treated for his injuries, including a head wound, at a Des Moines hospital and released over two months later.
Officials tell KTVO that Jacob is scheduled for the first arraignment on Monday in Wapello County on the charge of "Failure to Appear."
