KIRKSVILLE, MO. --  A couple of Heartland homes are going to have a lot of company this holiday season.

That's because they're part of this weekend’s Holiday Home Tour put on the the Kirksville Thousand Hills Rotary Club.

The historic Captain Thomas Harris home at the corner of Franklin and Burton Streets is one of the two homes on the list for this Sunday's event.

The home is owned by Daryl Shafer, who has completely restored it inside and out.

Rotary Club member Terri Jones say they have something old and something new to offer this year: a newly built home and a really old home.

"This house has been one of those homes that's been a landmark for Kirksville. It was built in 1875 by Captain Harris, and it is on the National Historic Preservation List, has been restored."

The second stop on this weekend's home tour is a newly constructed home owned by Michael and Kay Rocket.

It's located just off of the Lake Road west of Kirksville.

The 2009 Holiday Home Tour runs from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. this Sunday.

Tickets are $5 in advance and $6 at the door.

Tickets and tour maps are available at the main branch of Bank of Kirksville, Alliant Bank, American Trust Bank, Century 21-Whitney Agency, Kirksville Area Technical Center and from an Thousand Hills Rotarian.

You can also buy them at the homes on the tour.

All proceeds from the Home Tour benefit the Adair County Public Library Endownment Fund.
