KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- The second of 21 listening posts across Missouri set up in Kirksville Wednesday night.

Veterans had the chance to meet with service partners from several different groups such as the Veteran's Affairs, the VFW, and the Missouri Association of Veterans Organizations.

Questions ranged from education benefits, to military funerals, and especially healthcare.

“That's something we need to safeguard and to watch very closely is our healthcare.  Now I have healthcare providers at our local VA to Kirksville and the one in Columbia the VA Truman center, I like it very well,” said Vietnam Veteran Kenneth Morris.

But not everyone felt that way.  Some vets complained about the amount of time it takes to process an insurance claim and their coverage.  Officials say it's currently taking more than five months to process a claim.

The veteran partners stayed after the forum portion of the night to talk to veterans one-on-one.
