KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- It may be the end of the school year but some Kirksville Primary School students are still putting forward their best effort.
These kindergarten students just received 100 ribbons for good behavior through the positive behavior support program.
They can earn ribbons for respect, responsibility, and demonstrating their best effort in all they do.
The class will receive a mystery party for reaching the 100 ribbon mark.
“What we're trying to do is just reach out to our children and teach them social skills that will help them cope and be great citizens,” said Kirksville Primary School Teacher Marla Goring.
Students also take the tiger pledge each day in which they promise to demonstrate good behavior and show tiger pride.
The student’s teacher, Marla Goring, received a special honor herself. She has been named the Kirksville Community Teacher Association's Teacher of the Year.
“I'm very proud to be the ‘Teacher of the Year’ and hope that I've made a difference in the lives of children along the way,” said Goring.
