BROOKFIELD, MO. -- The Brookfield Police Department is investigating a weekend death they're calling "suspicious."

A friend of Mariah Windsor, 15, of Brookfield found her lifeless body in her bedroom around 10 a.m. Saturday.

Nineteen-year-old Ryan Woody, also of Brookfield, called 9-1-1 to report Windsor's death.

Officer Nicky White with the Brookfield Police Department responded to the scene.  She says when she got there, she found Mariah Windsor's body in her bed with no physical signs of trauma.

Preliminary autopsy results did not reveal a cause of death so investigators have to wait for toxicology reports to see what those might tell them about what killed the Brookfield High School freshman.

Police have been interviewing anyone who had any contact with Windsor in the hours prior to her death.

"We still have about a two-hour window where we're not quite sure of what she was doing. And, we really encourage anyone who saw her Friday night, especially after 8 (p.m. Friday), to talk to us, let us know if they saw her, if she called them, text messaged, computer, any kind of contact from her at all, would really help,” said White.

It could take up to six weeks to get the toxicology report back from the State Medical Examiner's Office.

Police have named no suspects at this time.

Mariah Windsor is the daughter of Richard Windsor of Brookfield and Mary Brown from out of the area.

Rhodes Funeral Home in Brookfield will handle Windsor's funeral.
