The Heartland began the first weekend of June with wild weather starting Friday afternoon.  Scattered thunderstorms developed Friday afternoon dumping heavy rain especially in Kirksville.

Later Friday night two tornadoes touched down in Adair and Macon County.  At 6:20 p.m. three miles east of Winigan a tornado was confirmed.  Then seven minutes later at 6:27 p.m. a tornado was spotted two miles north of Ethel. Little to no damage was reported with both tornadoes.

Storms continued into Friday night with strong winds, flooding rains, and hail reported.

Fact Finder discovered there were no confirmed tornadoes in northeast Missouri Saturday night.  Although a few tornadoes were reported throughout the evening, the National Weather Service has not confirmed any twisters at this time.

Fact Finder also learned a tornado was confirmed two miles southwest of Moulton, Iowa at 6:11 p.m. Saturday.  Several reports of wind damage and straight line winds were confirmed near Mystic and Centerville between 7:35 p.m. and 7:55 p.m.

That damage included snapped power poles, torn shingles and downed trees.
