KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- A Heartland man is facing three felony charges following a weekend stabbing.

James Connelly, 20, of Kirksville, is charged with first-degree assault, armed criminal action and felony resisting arrest.

Connelly is being held in the Adair County Jail on $100,000 cash only bond.

According to court papers, Connelly is accused of approaching the victim, accusing him of being a narc and a snitch, then pulling a knife.

The two began to fight and during the scuffle, Connelly allegedly cut the victim on the head with the knife.

The suspect then fled the scene.
