KIRKSVILLE, MO -- Truman students looked their best in the hopes of maybe getting a new job or expanding their education Wednesday.

The semiannual Truman Career Expo took place in Kirksville on the Truman State University campus.

Students were in suits and had their resumes ready to meet with employers and graduate schools and prepared to possibly be interviewed on-the-spot for a job or internship.

Organizers say 94 employers and graduate schools showed up for the expo, which is a big number compared to previous years due to the slowly recovering economy.

"This is the largest turn out of employers and graduate schools that we've had for a few years. That's my sign of an improving economy. We have employers from everywhere who are interested with talking to our students. But, of course, many of them are interested in talking to Truman Students because they know the quality of students that we have," said Polly Matteson, Assistant Director for the Truman Career Center.

The Truman Career Center was very pleased with the great turnout, and they are hoping for the same results in the career expo coming up in the spring.
