KIRKSVILLE, MO -- During the debate this election year, a lot of attention will be focused on "Obamacare."
One Heartland organization wants to help give residents a better understanding of it.
The Northeast Missouri Rural Health Network is coordinating two free presentations this Tuesday, September 18, on the impact of the Affordable Care Act on Missouri.
Missouri Foundation for Health Director of Health Policy, Ryan Barker, will provide an overview of the ACA and how it will affect the state in the long run.
"One of the goals of the Northeast Missouri Rural Health Network is to provide community and professional education. We felt after the Supreme Court Ruling that more people be interested in learning more about the Affordable Care Act and what impact it will have on their lives," said Northeast Missouri Rural Health Network Executive Director Glenna Daniels Young.
The presentations will be taking place at Noon and 5:30 p.m. at the Mehegan Classroom on the A.T. Still University campus.
The noon offering will focus on what health care providers are responsible for implementing, while the 5:30 presentation will share info on its impact on individuals and small businesses.
The school will also be live-streaming the presentations on live.atsu.edu.
