KIRKSVILLE, MO. -- The City of Kirksville is reminding residents it is not too late to get up and get active.

The Get Active Passport Program that began in April is still running now through October 12.

So far 700 people have picked up the passports, but very little few have actually returned them.

The Parks and Recreation Committee believes that the hot summer weather has kept people indoors and are hoping numbers will go up once it gets cooler and explore the town nature-wise.

"There is really no reason not to be active. This is giving you a chance to explore some things in Kirksville that you didn't know were there. People have told me that. So it's giving you a chance to get out and see what activities Kirksville has to offer," said Robin Harden of the Kirksville Aquatic Center.

Participants must complete 12 out of the 15 activities and take a photo while doing each one.

Then you take an online survey to be entered to win a secret grand prize.
