KIRKSVILLE, MO -- The Food Bank of Central and Northeast Missouri teamed up with Kirksville Hy-Vee during its Midnight Madness sale Thursday.

The heartland community helped raise 4,600 pounds of meat.

And, not only did the community donate meat they also gave 102 pounds of other items.

Manager of Perishables Robin Critchlow said the community jumped right on board.

“It was amazing. We had people lined up way beyond what our registers could even handle,” Critchlow said. “It was just amazing all the support that came out for our community on this.”

Critchlow said it’s not too late for you to donate.

You can still purchase 10 packages of bologna for $10 and receive a $10 coupon off your next purchase until Tuesday.

Hy-Vee will store the bologna, and the food bank will come and pick it up Tuesday.
