Amish man dies after horse-drawn buggy struck by truck

NEAR CANTON, MO. -- A northeast Missouri Amish man has died after the horse-drawn buggy he was riding in was struck by a truck.

Chris Yoder, 42, of Canton was killed when his buggy was hit from behind by the truck Thursday afternoon near an exit ramp on Highway 61 south of Canton in Lewis County.

Yoder was flown from the scene to Blessing Hospital in Quincy, Ill. where he died a short time later.

The driver of the truck, Michael Fulton, 52, of Williamstown, Missouri, was not hurt.

There were no other passengers in either vehicle.
