FAIRFIELD, IOWA -- The rain was not going to stop the first ever Trojan Dash at Fairfield's Waterworks Park Sunday morning.

Over 70 participants got up early Sunday morning to get down and dirty.

They ran through a two miles course, full of obstacles, and some of those obstacles were not so easy to conquer.

"We have some hay bales, some low crawls, some wall climbs, a fun slip and slide, some water that they have to splash through in some mud and some tire runs that they have to do. Those are a few of the 16 obstacles," said Gretchen McLain of Fairfield's Parks and Recreation Department.

McLain says that next year, they hope to have more participants, although for the first year they were pleased with the turnout.
