OSKALOOSA, IOWA -- Hundreds of people lined the sidewalks of downtown Oskaloosa Saturday morning all waiting for tickets to see President Obama.
The President will be in Oskaloosa on Tuesday morning at the Nelson Pioneer Farm Museum. This is part of his three-day bus tour across Iowa.
The OFA office doors opened at 11 a.m. but people started lining up outside as early as 6:30 a.m.
KTVO caught up with one of the first in line and Oskaloosa’s Mayor.
“I shook his hand when he was at Smokey Row campaigning here four years ago so I’m just excited to see the continuity,” said Kelly Wheeler.
“Oskaloosa has a tradition of listening to people and hearing them out. So I think there's probably both Democrats and Republicans here, certainly more Democrats though,” said Mayor David Krutzfeldt.
Mayor Krutzfeldt added that it’s not everyday that the President of the United States comes to Oskaloosa so it really is a momentous occasion.
KTVO will be bringing you more on President Obama’s visit on Tuesday.
