KIRKSVILLE, MISSOURI -- Three Kirksville men are in custody in connection with a weekend incident in Quincy.

Paxton Barnett, 18, and Leonard Sims, 30, are both being held in the Adair County Jail, following their arrest by Kirksville police. The third suspect, 22-year-old John Mims, 22, is being held in Adams County after turning himself in to Quincy police earlier in the week. All three are charged with home invasion, aggravated battery and criminal damage to property.

According to Quincy police, last Sunday night, the three men kicked in the door of a room at the Bel-Aire Motel in Quincy, then struck the victim with baseball bats numerous times, before stabbing him several times.

The victim was treated and released at Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
