CENTERVILLE, IA -- Republican candidate for the United States House of Representative Second District John Archer stopped by Centerville for the Appanoose County Republican Central Committee grand opening.

Archer was among the number of candidates that gave brief remarks on what maes this election so crucial for Americans.

The challenger is hoping to unseat incumbent Democrat Dave Loebsack who he says is failing the people of the second district.

Unemployment is a big area of concern in Archer's district.

He says that one thing government needs to do is "streamline the tax code" and make it easier for businesses to prosper.

Archer is a good example of a citizen trying to make a difference.

He recently took a leave of absence from his job at John Deere to focus on his campaign.
