MACON, MO -- OATS Incorporated has relocated its northeast regional office from Shelbina to Macon.

The new building includes new offices and more office space for the staff, a break room, conference rooms, a bus wash and a maintenance shop.

The staff says Macon's location at the intersection of Highways 63 and 36 made this the right move.

"We have 100 drivers in a 16 county region in northeast Missouri. You'll see the OATS buses go up and down 63 or 36. Having a facility right here, they can stop in and do paperwork, meet with their regional directors, wash their vehicles, do maintenance. It's just very convenient for us," said OATS Executive Director Dorothy Yeager.

Yeager says this was a dream five years in the making that came true for OATS and the company is very excited about this new change of location.

"To the company, it shows stability. It enables us to grow. The city and the chamber have all been very supportive and welcomed us with open arms. We're excited to be here in Macon," Yeager said.

Yeager also says that the building will be ready for the public to see during an open house next spring.

OATS is a private non-for-profit corporation that provides specialized transportation in 87 Missouri counties.
