CENTERVILLE, IOWA -- A Cincinnati man will spend the next fifty years in jail for the murder of his wife.

According to online court records, Jackie Paul Glascock, was sentenced to that term last week in Appanoose County.

The 68 year-old Glascock was found guilty of Second Degree murder for the killing of his wife, Doretta Glascock after a one day bench trial in April.

Doretta Glascock was 56 years-old when the police found her dead from gunshot wounds in the couple's home near Cincinnati in July of 2009.

Jackie Glascock was found suffering from a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the scene, it took him nearly a month for his health to improve enough to be arrested.

The sentencing ends a court case that has dragged on for nearly three years. Much of that time saw prosecutors and defense attorney's arguing over Glascock capacity to stand trial.
