Car lands upside down after crash near Novinger

A Kirksville man's car landed on its top following a Monday afternoon crash.

NEAR NOVINGER, MO. -- A one-car crash in northeast Missouri.

It happened at 3:45 p.m. Monday two miles west of Novinger on Highway 6.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Charles Downen, 60, of Kirksville was driving westbound when he went off of the road and struck a field entrance.

His car became airborne and landed on the passenger side before coming to rest on its top.

Downen was transported by ambulance to Northeast Regional Medical Center for treatment of moderate injuries.
