The Hospice was originally in St. Joseph’s Hospital and has now been at its current location on Pennsylvania Ave. for two years.

Staff said the atmosphere of the new building is warm and inviting.

“I do think you have to be a special type of person to be able to be around the terminally ill and their families. You either have to love the job or you're not going to be here and I think our staff really loves the job they do,” said Vicki Proctor, Hospice Volunteer Coordinator.

Hospice staff members gave tours of the newly remodeled building. The facility can accommodate six patients at a time along with their families.

Saturday was a day to celebrate life and remember all of those that Hospice has served.
